WHAT IS ZUMBA?

Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance fitness program that is fun and energetic combining multiple Latin and international songs and rhythms with moves from beautiful dances of

WHO CREATED ZUMBA?

The co-founder and creator of Zumba is a Colombian dancer, choreographer and fitness instructor, Alberto "Beto" Perez.

 

Legend has it that Zumba was accidentally created in the 1990s when Beto forgot his tape in one of his aerobics classes and decided to play his own playlist of Latin songs in the aerobics class. What a beautiful accident indeed!

 

Zumba is a brand of dance fitness program and its trademark is owned by Zumba Fitness, LLC.

CAN ANYBODY DANCE ZUMBA?

Yes, most people can dance Zumba. Both men and women, children, adults and the elderly!

 

People of all nationality, fitness levels, dance backgrounds (or the lack of) all around the world enjoy Zumba.

 

Most students will learn fast enough to enjoy a good class and have a fun, effective workout within a few classes.

 

The key is to keep moving to keep FIT, have FUN and  look FABULOUS!

 

The choreography is simple and highly repetitive, which makes the class more about fitness and continuous movement rather than nailing down a specific choreography.

HOW LONG IS A ZUMBA CLASS?

Zumba classes range from 45-minute, 1-hour to 90-minute duration.

 

Zumba classes at Dee Dream Life typically are 1-hour long and will leave you fully worked out and dripping in sweat!

 

Occasionally, Zumba teachers conduct Zumba parties or events such as Zumbathons or charity events and these can up for to several hours with a range of different teachers taking the lead.

A Zumba class will allow you to burn 500-1,000 calories in an hour on average, which makes it a very effective workout for weight loss, fitness and stamina building, muscle mass gain and fat loss.
