Make Yourself Redundant

Updated: Aug 21, 2020

This post is for those like me who are building your own businesses or for anyone who is working in a company/organisation… Just a reminder of something I have learned from a good book called “The 4-hour Work Week” by Timothy Ferriss. This book emphasises the need for business owners and workers to find ways to automate systems and delegate work within the business so that the owner does not need to do much repetitive or manual work after some time.

This is such an important concept to have front and centre in the minds of business owners while setting things up as the last thing you want is a success that breathes down your throat in a few years where you have no time to sleep, eat or take a break because everything in your business depends on you to keep going.

This is particularly an easy trap to fall into as most of us entrepreneurs innately love to have control over things, thus explaining how we got there to begin with. Spend time training others to do what you do, building a good team you can trust and giving control of decisions to others who work for you. Watch how people can thrive and flourish with the rope you give them, while you sit back and relax on an island with intermittent remote internet access 😉

NOW that is the dream life for everyone!
